Grand'Ourse - La cantine de Kamouraska is quickly gaining a reputation as a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Kamouraska, Quebec. Patrons rave about its robust menu, which features gourmet burgers like the Agneau de Kamouraska, a delightful amalgamation of local lamb, fresh goat cheese, and spicy eggplant compote. Another highlight is the Esturgeon burger, which has received high praise for its unique taste and quality. The accompanying French fries, hand-cut and crafted from local potatoes, are touted as some of the best in Canada. The dining experience is complemented by a vibrant atmosphere and attentive staff, making every visit memorable. As a family-friendly venue, it resonates with both adults and children, offering fun activities like babyfoot. Don't overlook the fish and chips, which are also a must-try, featuring perfectly fried cod paired with a house-made tartar sauce. The guedilles, especially the lobster variant, showcase the kitchen's knack for fresh, local ingredients. Regulars like Isabelle Hazelwood and David Couillard echo the sentiment that Grand'Ourse is worth the wait, even during busy hours, because the food is undeniably satisfying. If you find yourself in Kamouraska, this eatery is not just a meal; it’s an adventure for the senses.

This place serves some amazing food. The French fries are especially good. I had an Esturgeon burger and my girlfriend has the Mushroom Poutine. We were both very much into our food not wanting to share... hehe. We came back two days later cor another poutine each. My girlfriend said it was one of the best poutine place ever... and we’ve had our share of poutines. There are two vegetarian options in the poutines. And other great meat lovers options. Service was excellent on both times. Super friendly and cozy. Go with your kids and play a free game of babyfoot. They have a big parking lot for the town and also some cool under the sun or in the shade outdoor seating. If you stop in Kamouraska, this place is a must if you like good French Fries.

Some of the best fish and chips in Canada. Amazing poutine, sandwiches and beer, as well. Good espresso coffee, as well. Super friendly staff.

When was the last time you saw Sturgeon Burger on a menu (it's delicious)? Salads, innovative poutines, fish & handcut frites, desserts, etc. Locally-sourced ingredients, craft beer & cider, great service. A few steps away from a great seafood shop and an excellent bakery.

The “boeuf bourguignon” poutine was an amazing delightful discovery, the honey flower onion entree was so good and the duck club sandwich was a nice twist to the regular club sandwich. The service was great. For the quantity, quality and price, you cannot find another place like this in any urban cities. I recommend it to whoever can make a road trip to Kamouraska.

We stumbled on this cantina our way back and were happily surprised by the menu and the meals we ordered. The portobello mushroom poutine is quite amazing and the lobster roll was very tasty as well. I would recommend this stop to anyone who’s passing by Kamouraska.
